Portuguese Man O’ War Tank

This project was my senior MaDE capstone project. Our goal was to the design a tank built to keep a Portuguese Man O’ War (PMW) in captivity for life cycle research. The tank will be fitted into the existing aquarium infrastructure used by our client, George Parsons of Shedd Aquarium.

In our research, two major survivability factors was determined for the PMW: preventing the PMW from coming into contact with the tank walls, and to provide sufficient wind to keep the PMW healthy. These would be the main design problems that our tank tackles.
